I grew up across Los Angeles and Orange County. For years I accepted the tradeoffs of Southern California. The traffic. The taxes. The cost of a normal house. The feeling that working harder didn’t always mean living better. I told myself that was just what it cost to live somewhere good.

Then the math stopped making sense.

I started looking at Las Vegas differently. Not as a weekend trip, but as a place to build a life. I compared the homes, the taxes, the neighborhoods, the commutes, the everyday costs. I looked past the Strip and started seeing the city the way the people who live here see it. The more I learned, the harder it got to ignore.

So in 2022, I made the move.

It wasn’t casual. I was leaving the place where I’d spent most of my life and starting over in a city I was still learning. I had the same questions you probably have now. Where should I live? Which neighborhoods fit how I actually spend my time? What would I gain, and what would I give up? Was it really as good as it looked on paper?

I didn’t have every answer when I arrived. But I knew how to find them. So I did.

My income went further. I could afford more home. Nevada has no state income tax. And the part that mattered most: I had more time to actually live the life I was working so hard to build. I haven’t regretted it once.

Then people started asking me how I did it.

That’s the work now. I sit on your side of the table and read the hand you can’t see yet, because I sat in your seat first.

Here’s what matters. This isn’t really my story anymore. It’s yours. You’re the one running the numbers, studying the listings, wondering whether the leap is real.
